Booking.com – why you should use it for your next vacation reservation

Happy Easter everyone 😊

I’ve been travelling quite a bit in the past few weeks and I am not complaining at all. In fact I wish I could travel every weekend to a different city, a girl can dream!

I always find trouble getting the right accommodation at the right price. Luckily not anymore, since my friend introduced me to booking.com, a website that allows you to search and make accommodation reservations online and easily compare prices.

Here’s why I love booking.com and why you should consider it for your next trip:

1) Affordable and reliable

I  stayed in a cosy 4.5 star B&B in East London called The Birdhouse , it actually looked like a bird house. You will also find that what you see online is exactly the same in reality with booking.com, so no scams. You  only pay when you arrive at your destination and you can cancel your booking without any penalty charges.

I was very happy with the price and even though I booked my accommodation and flights last minute,  I was still able to get  a really good deal with breakfast included. I chose the standard room and only paid R686 for one night. This was an elegant one bedroom suite with a spacious bathroom- with a shower and a bath tub.

I definitely slept like a queen after all the travelling and dancing in one day.

There is also a family room which is much more spacious and has more to offer.

2) Airport transfers

The Birdhouse Airport Shuttle

I traveled from Cape Town early in the morning on the day of the wedding  to East London Airport and I had to travel by car to  Gonubie where the wedding venue was. So the airport shuttle was very useful. The transport fare (R250) was not included in my reservation fee which was a disappointment, but I was happy to have chosen the option either way. Maybe they should tell us online that this is a separate fee.

3) All you can eat breakfast

It was very peaceful here and I enjoyed having breakfast in a very peaceful and chic dinning area. I enjoyed the wide simple selection of cereals, home made jam, beacon and eggs and baked beans. This made it feel like home. I also loved the sweet aroma of our indigenous rooibos tea which went well with the whole experience. This truly felt like an original South African experience.

I have added a slide show with some decor inspiration to show how lovely this place really is.

3) Friendly staff

The driver was sweet from the time I got to the airport he had a little board with my name on it, it felt so cool. Then I drove in a comfortable mini bus to the B&B.

The house attendant was so friendly, not only did she make sure the rooms were neat and that I had all that I needed, she prepared the breakfast and was even my photographer ! I really wished I could stay there for one more night just for the amazing service.

Honestly booking.com is amazing and it is a site that I will use from now on.

What is great is that you can use it to book hotels and B&Bs or guest houses anywhere in the world at reasonable prices- you just have to find the deal that you can afford.

Have you ever used booking.com to make a reservation? How was your experience?

I also want to hear about other reservation sites available out there, so please leave some tips on the ones which you have tried in the comments section below.
